| Martina Gyokery - RMT

 

Martina's background in Physical education and Biology as well as being a competitive athlete in track and field and Triathlon many years brought her to study at Sutherland-Chan   School and teaching clinic where she graduated in 1994.

 

Her interests in sport as well as postgraduate work enabled her to work as a therapist with the professional figure skating tour “Stars on Ice” from 1995 to 1999 working with professional athletes like Kurt Browning, Scott Hamilton and many other Olympic medallists. Her passion for healthy life styles, enthusiasm of sharing information and education people about preventing injuries, convinced Martina to open Vitality Centre in May 2004. Besides her sport experience Martina now specializing in treatment of chronic pain, stress reduction, pregnancy and many more.

 

A certified Pilates Mat instructor with Body Harmonics, in Guelph. Martina is also finishing her studies as Holistic Life coach and  would like to share her experience with you and bring health to your whole family.

| Joanne Ritcey B.A. RMT

 

Joanne comes to us with a keen interest in natural health and well-being. She received her Bachelor of Kinesiology, specializing in Exercise Studies (Athletic Therapy) in 1999 from Acadia University. There she had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of varsity athletes and children with special needs. In 2001, she graduated from Northumberland College with honours. During the last 5 years she has worked at very busy wellness centre in a fitness club in Toronto where she had dealt with a wide variety of clients from amateur athletes to people seeking stress reduction. Through the years, she has specialized in pregnancy massage, infant massage and is currently going through the DONA Double certification as well as Pilates certification program. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you reach you fitness and wellness goals.

| Kerri Burns - Pilates Instructor

 

Kerri is a graduate of the School of Toronto Dance Theatre where she studied Martha Graham technique and was first introduced to her Pilates training.  Her desire to learn more about the human body led to further academic studies.  She is a registered Massage Therapist, Certified Fitness Instructor, and Certified with Second Wind for her Pilates mat, Reformer (Pilates resistance machine) and Integrated Movement therapies.  She continues to train both personally and professionally in many Pilates areas. Now mother of two Kerri shares her full time being a mom  teaching Pilates at the Vitality centre and practicing massage therapy.

| Kelene Kinnersly CST - Certified Shiatsu Therapist

 

Kelene is a Certified Shiatsu Therapist who has been in private practice for over 12 years. She' has been a member of the Shiatsu Therapy Association of Ontario since graduating in 1994 from a 2,200 hour professional training program at Kikkawa College . Her training is considered to have had the highest standards in Shiatsu outside of Japan . Kelene incorporates the teachings Tokujiro Namikoshi, Masunaga, and Toronto 's own Mitsuki  Kikkawa to provide her clients with optimum benefits.

 

Two years ago, she incorporated Reiki into her work. Reiki is a therapeutic alternative for those that are chronically ill or recovering for an illness, because of its noninvasive gentle approach and it ability to balance the mind body and spirit. Her latest adventure is becoming a Certified Reflexologist. Kelene feels that the therapeutic qualities of Reflexology give it a wonderful alternative and compliment to Shiatsu Therapy. As well as rounding out her practice so that she may provide care and treatment to clients at any stage in their life.

 

Kelene also provides workshops for RMTs and labour workshops for couples. She hopes to run more general  workshops for those interested in Self Shiatsu and Basic Shiatsu.

| Gina Hayes, RMT   

 

Gina graduated from Sutherland-Chan teaching School and Clinic in 1997 and is registered by the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario.

 

Gina has advanced training in the restoration of soft tissue (i.e. muscle and connective tissue) restrictions and muscle imbalances. As well as Traditional Swedish Massage, Gina practices sport performance massage. As a former competitive athlete she offers personal insight to her clients. Gina continues to be involved in health and fitness and bring that experience and knowledge to her practice.

Vitality Centre was established in May 2004. Our centre offers multiple therapy disciplines from both western and eastern philosophy. Our team of practitioners have more than 40 years of experience in helping clients to reach their goals in their health, exercise and prevention.

| Rishma Walji, BSc, ND, PhD (C)

    Naturopathic Doctor

 

Rishma has a Bachelors of Science in Physiology from McGill University and graduated from the 4 year Naturopathic Medical program at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (Toronto). She is currently completing her PhD at the University of Toronto.  In addition, she has undergone extra training with world renowned leaders in Homeopathic Medicine, and in women’s health with the leading experts in the Healthy Breast Program. Rishma also has advanced training in acupuncture and facial rejeuvenation acupuncuture.  She is a member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Association of Perinatal Naturopathic Doctors (a group dedicated to building expertise in children's health care and health around pregnancy, fertility and labour). Rishma has done numerous community and corporate talks on various topics in Naturopathic Medicine. She is also actively involved in research in several areas of complementary and alternative medicine and health services and policy research.

 

| Tiffany Gracey RMT

 

Tiffany is a graduate of Kikkawa College, 2006 and is a member of the College of Massage Therapist of Ontario (CMTO). While in the program, Tiffany was exposed to different learning environments including  her school clinic, Sunnybrook hospital working with Multiple Sclerosis clients, as well as volunteering her time at the Terry Fox Race and providing chair massage at the justice of peace in Toronto. Furthermore, Tiffany has taken extra classes offered at her school (although not curriculum related) to expand her knowledge and focus her energy. They included Shamanism, Reiki ( completing level one) and Yoga. She has also volunteered in her hometown community at the Milton Relay for Life ( Cancer Society) and the Terry Fox Race.

 

Tiffany has been working at the Vitality Centre since the end of May 2007. She appreciates very much the experience of working alongside other alternative health care professionals, the knowledge she is gaining and the many learning opportunities  available to her. She is passionate and dedicated to the health of her clients whether  they are coming in to achieve relaxation and decreased stress or to have a treatment for a specific concern.
